Fire Emblem Heroes announced for smartphones

Fire Emblem Heroes was formally announced during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation that focused on the Fire Emblem franchise. You'll drag characters around to move them from tile to tile, with movement and combat apparently working like in a typical Fire Emblem. With Super Mario Run marking the company's second title aimed at mobile phone users, the firm has now pulled the curtain off of yet another major IP making its way to outside hardware in the form of Fire Emblem Heroes.

You may select only one hero for your vote, and you must choose from the options already given to you, although they are sensibly varied and sorted either by game or by showing you a random hero until you decide on one.

During the Fire Emblem Direct last night Nintendo announced the next game in the Fire Emblem series. While this clearly isn't the case, it's odd that the Big N doesn't have a firm date in mind for the iOS launch of Fire Emblem Heroes - especially when the software's Android arrival is just around the corner. However, orbs come in a variety of different colors, and no matter whether you opt to amass them through playing or paying, the colors you receive will always be random. Nintendo also has a handy list of countries where it will be available but reassures those not in the list that the roster isn't final. Regular 3DS and 2DS owners, however, will be out of luck, as Fire Emblem Warriors will only be compatible with the New 3DS family of consoles. In the meantime, fans can vote on which characters should appear.

Emblem 2

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and the amiibo will release on May 19, 2017 and you can view the trailer and amiibo above and below. In fact, it is giving it two Fire Emblem titles.

"As a summoner, players build their army by calling upon Fire Emblem heroes from worlds that span the breadth of the series", said Nintendo. There are four new games coming out in the near future, including a remake of a classic title for the 3DS, a mysterious game for Nintendo's upcoming Switch console, and the highly anticipated mobile game.
