Overwatch's New Character Teased in Blog Post

While emotes usually take only days or weeks to create, he revealed the team is busy working on not just one but "multiple new heroes". In a recent blog post, the company created a fictional interview with who appears to be a new character for the MMO FPS game Overwatch, which seems to break numerous tropes that were tied with the game so far. It doesn't look quite like the mech that's become the center of all the theories, but Kaplan outright warned Reddit users that "the hero in the center is not the hero that you think it is". I'm still under the impression that Efi is going to be a super villain, though, and a lack of Anchora doesn't change my mind.

What kind of character are you hoping to see next?

The Doomfist hype was also accentuated by a lot by actor Terry Crews, who even took a trip to Blizzard and tweeted a picture from the Overwatch "base of operations". Perhaps one of her robotic inventions could be the new character, as she does say her dream is to build something "that can keep us safe".

In a recent forum post asking about Sombra's sitting emote and the 24th hero, Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan offered up this teaser: "24 is not who you think it is". She just won a "genius grant" from the Adawe Foundation and the interview drops a few obscure hints as to what Blizzard my be planning.

"I think it's really interesting that people think that diversity was the goal of the Overwatch team, when it was not". Months later, an animated video introducing the game's heavily teased newest hero, Sombra, hid a reference to the mech once more.

It also gives us a little clue about the short future of "Overwatch". But there appears to be more to this story than simply Efi being the next hero to join the crew.

Time will tell who we'll be playing as next in Overwatch, and we can't wait to find out. Will Doomfist ever make an appearance?

What they may have revealed is that her fascination with building drones and robots have led to a secret project, and that project may be the new hero that fans have been waiting for.
