Arsenal v Manchester City - the fans' view

Arsene Wenger has told Sky Sports that he is not planning to change Arsenal's lineup as a outcome of their poor form, and said the team must stick to their attack-minded philosophy. He said: 'It started well but it has become rather disappointing'.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says it is not too late for Arsene Wenger to save his relationship with Arsenal's fans and remain in charge at the Emirates Stadium. Fans are split on whether the Frenchman, who joined Arsenal in 1996, should stay or go, but Wenger says the team's poor form can not be explained by this.

"Scores of empty seats at recent games show many find staying away is the best way to articulate their views". We have been in situations like this one before, too many times if truth be told, and the team has always responded to get us back where we need to be by the time the season ends.

But Guardiola, who takes his Manchester City team to the Emirates in the Premier League on Sunday, believes he can win the fans over just by getting back to winning ways. That is basically our attacking potential and we also have to focus on our togetherness and our desire to prepare our future.

A survey has revealed 78 per cent of members want the long-serving Frenchman out at the end of his current contract in the summer, and have urged the board to withdraw the offer of a new two-year deal.

"It would be an easy excuse [to blame it on the uncertainty]".

Sanchez played every minute for Chile in both of their games during the global break, producing a freekick in the fifth minute of Tuesday night's win over Venezuela to further justify the £50milllion fee Arsenal are demanding for him.

"We believe the board's role now is to successfully manage the transition to a new manager, an eventuality for which they have had plenty of warning and time to prepare". Their job is to perform and for me [it is] to help them to perform and to develop as players. Can you perform despite that?

"My attachment to this club, at the moment it is as it is and I do not see any escape route to have less responsibilities because I might not be here".

Wenger revealed after the 3-1 loss at West Brom before the worldwide break that he had made up his mind whether he will stay or go - but has still to reveal his decision.

"He has one and a half years contract, so I don't think that it is an immediate concern for Arsenal football club".

"They are not top, top ideal but yes", he said, adding that he is optimistic that Jesus can return to the squad before the end of the season.

"We have to look at ourselves and believe in our qualities because if you look at our offensive numbers they are very positive in the league". We were caught where West Brom are strong and where we are usually quite good - defending set-pieces.

"When I say defend better, it's not just the defenders it's the team as a whole". With the possession we had, we had not enough goal chances.
