Trump May Be Seeking New Chief of Staff

One of the names being floated to replace Priebus: Gary Cohn, of course, the former Goldman president turned National Economic Council chairman turned Kushner ally whom Bannon's allies disdain as one of the "Democrats" from NY.

Steve Bannon, the nationalist adviser to President Trump has been having a tough time with Jared Kushner, the complicit son-in-law of President Trump. Swan reported that Bannon had told associates in the past 24 hours that he "loved a gun fight".

News stories this past week exposed the civil war within Trump's inner circle, with anonymous sources describing factions led by Bannon and Kushner as being locked in perpetual battle.

"I love a gunfight", said Bannon.

President Donald Trump is considering firing two of his supposedly closest advisers. White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks characterised the meetings as routine diplomatic encounters.

"[Steve] recently vented to us about Jared being a "globalist" and a 'cuck'He actually said 'cuck, ' as in "cuckservative, '" said oneadministration official on terms of anonymity".

But Bannon continues to have powerful allies of his own.

Separately, Axios said Trump was considering Cohn and House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, among others, as possible chief of staff replacements. Last week, Cohen-Watnick was revealed as one of the White House officials who gathered information that was later provided to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) to try to bolster Trump's claim that the Obama administration illegally spied on him.

The Times added that the president has begun to ask visitors how he thinks his team is doing, specifically White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus who he reportedly places partial blame for the collapse in their recent push on health care. Bannon has made it clear he doesn't approve of Kushner who, before he joined his father-in-law's presidential campaign, was a lifelong liberal and a Democratic donor. Kushner, they said, advocated for a reconsolidation of power. Cohn is valued at up to $611 million thanks to his former role as the No. 2 Executive of Goldman Sachs, according to The New York Times.

TheHill.com said the administration is complaining that its victory dance about the airstrikes on Syria Thursday night and the confirmation of its Supreme Court nominee is getting stepped on by too many stories about palace intrigue within the White House.
