Make Your Health Status Public, NMA Tells Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari's Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, on Thursday, disclosed that the President would go on another medical vacation. They also persuaded her to draft a series of tweets asserting that the president's health was not as bad as perceived.

Despite Mrs Aisha Buhari's reassurances, the president failed to attend the meeting of the federal executive council, which was held as usual within walking distance of the presidential villa.

Mohammed maintained that all the president was doing is following the doctor's advice, even as he said, "Mr president himself told the nation he has never been this sick and he is going to take it easy".

Ogirima faulted those managing the information concerning Buhari's health.

Also President Buhari ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the SGF Mr David Babachir Lawal, in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). One of the signatories, the political analyst Jibrin Ibrahim, told The Times yesterday that he was anxious the president, whose reputation for honesty belies that of many Nigerian politicians, was being manipulated.

Asked what those reasons might be, Ibrahim said: "Pecuniary. He said it from day one when he came back from the UK". Like we have always said, Mr president will stick to his doctor's advice so that he can recover much more quickly.

Titled "Let Us Paralyse The System", the statement equally called for the suspension of all official activities until President Buhari agrees to resign and disengage himself and his cabal from governance for the country to move forward. There were speculations that Buhari was scheduled to leave Nigeria on May 10 for another medical trip.

He has not been seen in public for more than a week.
