Man arrested in theft of Portland train victim's ring

A week after two men were fatally stabbed on a Portland, Oregon, MAX train for standing up to a white supremacist who was harassing two teenage girls, police are seeking a man suspected of stealing the wedding ring and backpack belonging to one of the victims.

Federal Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said earlier this week that the bureau is investigating the attack to determine whether to charge Christian with terrorism or a federal hate crime. Best's family hopes to get that information so they can get in touch with those people.

Police had released surveillance footage on Thursday of a man carrying Best's backpack leaving the Portland MAX commuter train shortly after the stabbings. He was a 23-year Army veteran and father of 4.

"It's an added a layer of tragedy for this family", Simpson told The Oregonian. He also had on a black Jordan Brand baseball cap, black shorts, and black shoes.

Police spokesman Pete Simpson said that the men had been attacked "viciously" by the suspect as they were trying to "de-escalate him and protect some other people on the train".

Micah David-Cole Fletcher, 21, won a poetry slam in 2013 with a piece about the prejudices faced by minorities, including Muslim Americans.

Christian is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, first-degree assault, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of intimidation.

Portland Police investigating a murderous attack on three men have come across an additional, disgusting detail.

The list was not found when the suspect was taken into custody.

"We really kind of want to lean on the humanity if there is any there".

On Friday, June 2, Portland police announced that the suspect in the theft of property from deceased Portland stabbing victim Ricky Best has been apprehended.
