Microsoft to pay users if they search with Bing

Microsoft Bing Bing search engine Britain to use Bing Google Search Rewards scheme search engine google search engine Bing search engine Bing

The entire Microsoft Rewards scheme is created to get people using Bing.

A search on Bing is equivalent to three points along with the capability to earn points by purchasing products through the Windows, Xbox and Microsoft stores, with every $1 spent, you get one point.

Microsoft is clearly getting desperate to shore up the number of users adopting its Bing search engine, and is now offering United Kingdom users points in return for searches made on the platform which can be traded in for music, movies and more.

There are two status tiers in Microsoft Rewards - Level 1 and Level 2. "The search limit resets every day, so you can start earning again tomorrow".

In effect, this new programme is much the same thing, and it's coming to France, Germany and Canada "in the coming weeks and months as part of the worldwide roll-out".

Microsoft Rewards works similarly in the U.S. and UK. Simply use it until you max out your points then switch back to Chrome.

Microsoft from today will start paying people in the United Kingdom to use Bing instead of Google for all of their search needs. You will need a Microsoft account to sign up. And if in a month will be collected 500 points, the user will automatically increase your daily income up to 150 points.

Or, if you're willing to save up for a while, you could exchange 9500 points for a month's access to Groove Music Pass - Microsoft's Spotify alternative.

£5 of Skype credit will take 1250 points. Once on Chrome, you can max out the points you can get using Bing in Chrome as well.

Since I've been using Microsoft Rewards I've gotten years of Xbox Live Gold for free and now I use Bing for 95% of my internet searches.

As you earn rewards you advance up to a new tier, too.
