Putin says claims he has compromising info on Trump are 'nonsense'

Officials say Trump may not try to block Comey's testimony

The inaugural episode of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly featured an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin who didn't say much of anything.

Putin, speaking in an interview on June 4 on NBC's Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly, said reports he had anything damaging on Trump were "just another load of nonsense".

Trump also said in an interview that he was thinking of "this Russian Federation thing" when he chose to fire Comey.

Putin also said that his nation had no channels of communication with the campaigns of either Trump or Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, but that there may have been official contacts, which he called a “standard diplomatic practice.”.

The president said hundreds of American business executives come to Moscow every year and that he rarely sees any of them, including Trump, who was a business magnate before entering politics.

Putin also said he had no idea if the Russian ambassador to Washington had held contacts with the Trump campaign before the November election. Putin noted that executives from perhaps 100 American companies were now in Russian Federation.

"Why do feel you have the right to ask us these kind of questions?"

"I never met with him".

The two have spoken several times by phone since Mr Trump's election.

Putin's comments come in the midst of an FBI investigation into whether Donald Trump's campaign had conspired with the Russian government to help win the election.

US intelligence agencies reported in January that Putin oversaw a campaign of computer hacking, fake news and propaganda meant to swing the election to the Republican candidate Trump over his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton. "They aren't analyzing the information in its entirety".

American police yesterday detained scores of pro-Trump protesters following street battles in Portland, Oregon.

Putin repeatedly rejected claims that Russian hackers had acted to help Trump win the election ― an assertion that has been substantiated by multiple us intelligence agencies.

Intelligence experts have said Russian intelligence officials have a habit of trying to gather compromising information on influential foreigners when they visit.

"I made my speech. But I frankly think we need to hear Mr. Comey's side and find out what other questions we need to ask". And I got up and left. That's it.

"I will tell you something that you probably already know", he said. He used to be in the security services.' That's it. "Had there been anything significant, he would have reported it to the minister, and the minister would have reported it to me", the Russian president said, "There's nothing to even talk about. That's the extent of my acquaintance with Mr Flynn". President Putin said Russian Federation is operating on a "democratic path" and was put off to be asked about that subject. You create a sensation out of nothing and out of this sensation, you turn it into a weapon of war against the current president.

Putin, for instance, dismissed Kelly's questions about repression and the killing of journalists in Russian Federation by saying it was another example of American moralizing.
