China : Climber Dead after falling from 62-feet Storey

Daredevil climber dies trying to do pull-ups on a 62-story skyscraper

THE tragic death of a daredevil young man has been broadcast to millions after the stunt expert died while attempting pull-ups from the ledge of a 62-storey skyscraper.

The Telegraph reports that the reason for the silence is that Wu, aged 26, had a fatal fall from the summit of the 62-storey Huayuan Hua Centre in the central city of Changsha on November 8.

The daredevil was reportedly attempting to claim $11,200 for a clip promoting an unnamed sponsor.

AsiaOne reports that a video of the horrific incident surfaced online December 10.

Yongning's girlfriend broke the sad news of the daredevil's demise in a post on Chinese social media site called Weibo.

Wu Yongning filmed almost all of his exploits and shared them on his wildly popular social media page on the social media platform Weibo.

Local media outlets state Wu was attempting a challenge in order to win the equivalent of $20,000, with a family member telling the South China Post that he meant to use the money to pay for his upcoming wedding and his mother's medical treatment. His body was allegedly discovered by a window cleaner.

Yongning's step-uncle said he competed in the challenge because he needed the money for a wedding and to take care of his mother.

Fans became concerned when Mr Wu abruptly stopped posting in November, and his girlfriend later confirmed that he had died after falling during an attempted stunt.

Wu, from Ningxiang in Hunan, worked as an extra in films before turning to a career in rooftopping.

It may be mentioned that Wu Yongning had 235,000 fans on China's Meipai website. He shared almost 300 videos of his death-defying acts.

He bought mobile phones and electrical appliances for his parents with the money he earned, the report added.
