PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.

It looks like our snow storm has taken a little break Thursday afternoon - no doubt it's regrouping before coming back and hitting us again after 6 p.m. tonight. Higher elevations could see 1' - 4' feet of snow. "Snow totals will range from 2-4" Indianapolis points north, while areas south of the city could see 1-2". The Advisory for Lake-Newaygo-Ottawa- Counties runs until noon for mainly light snow and slippery roads.

New Year's Day will be nearly a mirror image of Sunday with temperatures reaching a high near 19 and a low of around 10. The temperature is expected to drop to a low around 13 Saturday night with winds of 8 to 10 miles per hour. Arctic air stays in place all next week, with subzero wind chills every morning. BWI also tied a record low of 10 degrees from 1950. We will be back to the mid to upper 20s by the middle of the week before another round of highs into the teens for late next week into the first half of the first full weekend of 2018.
