Trump Orders Immigration Raids for Migrants with Deportation Orders

President Donald Trump speaks during his re-election kickoff rally at the Amway Center in Orlando Fla

"I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border".

Immigration law experts are warning Kenyans living in the United States illegally to avoid places and situations that would bring them into direct contact with or expose them to American immigration officers ahead of planned countrywide raids beginning Sunday.

President Trump has directed ICE agents to conduct a mass roundup of migrant families that have received deportation orders, an operation that is likely to begin with pre-dawn raids in major United States cities today, according to three United States officials with knowledge of the plans.

Cities to be targeted in the raid include New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Houston - all Democratic controlled and many of which forbid local law enforcement from helping ICE.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez reacted to the prospect of raids with a statement that Miami is "city of Immigrants".

"The people that Ice will apprehend have already been ordered to be deported", Trump said earlier today.

"As I've said before, if there is a move to deport immigrants then I say start with me - a son of immigrants".

He wrote that the people the administration says it is targeting, "may not even know that they have been ordered removed because they never received notice of the hearing".

"We are here as Albany park neighborhood, as representatives of immigrant community, to condemn Donald Trumps promise of immigration raids in communities like our own", Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, 35th Ward.

She immigrated from Africa and asked that we hide her identity in protection of other family members.

In Texas, ICE'S Homeland Security Investigations unit, which enforces immigration laws at workplaces, arrested 280 employees at a company in Allen, Texas, in April, saying it was their biggest worksite operation in a decade. Trump told Pelosi he would consider her request, a source told The Associated Press.

"We are disgusted by the administration and ICE's glee in terrorizing immigrant families, leaving children crying and sick to their stomach with fear about what could happen to their parents", said Ana Rodriguez, of the Colorado People's Alliance.

He said ICE and the Justice Department had worked closely together on the family expedited docket and that the "results were very disappointing", claiming that some families failed to show up for their immigration hearings.

"I'm afraid just thinking of Sunday", said one woman, who identified herself as an undocumented immigrant from Mexico and prefers to hide her identity.

It's also slightly unusual to target families - as opposed to immigrants with criminal histories - but not unprecedented.

Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava, a Democrat running for county mayor in 2020, called for an immediate briefing on how the county police department would respond to raids.
